Move your ass downtown

So as I am sure last weekend was not the last and this coming weekend is sure to compete; the past weekend has made me realize that I need to live closer to the heart of the city. The photo is from Mad Mex near campus.

It started as an annoying travel time thing for work, now it has progressed into, "I don't want to have to pay for a cab all the way home, from the club" kinda thing.

There are a few options.
1. Get a house somewhere close to the vicinity.
This option makes some sense, but I would really need to think about location and cost and the value of the area. I looked and looked a year ago and never found exactly what I was looking for unless it was waay out of my price range. If I did this I would probably be living in the hood, which is not too different from where I am now.
Then we add in the fact that I am not really sure where I will be in the next 3 years; it just may not be the best idea.

2. Get a spot above the happening High street
This is a great option for the location, but there are a few downsides. Unless I can find a place that is above some storage facility or warehouse, sound proofing would be required. I don't jam that hard, but I also don't have to worry about it where I am now. The other issue is that if I keep DJing, I will have to find a place with easy elevator access or a garage so I can either store or transfer my traveling junk quickly. The last problem resides with size, if I am going to continue to record, which will always happen, I need at least a 2 bedroom place, if not more. Above these places on High that I have seen, space is limited and quite expensive.

3. My other option is to look in Clintonville or one of the villages. I may find the space for the cost for the apartment, but then I am dealing with not being exactly where I want to be.

I need the following
1. space- preferably 2 bedrooms for a townhouse, or 2 bedrooms and a double living room for a flat.
2. access - I need a place with an elevator if it is above ground level, or a place with a garage or very secure area for my traveling junk.
3. cost - it can't beat what I am paying now, but I don't want it to cost more than a home loan would cost in a burb.
