Lab Report - Billi D In The Lab

Category: Lab

Visiting artist Billi D. hit the lab for a hot second and worked on a track that was sitting around waiting to be "molded". Billi D. who is a solo artist and also a member of The Bees Knees, stepped up to the mic and was complete after only two takes. It was refreshing to see someone who knew what they were doing enter my shabby studio. I am currently working on remixing the track so that it may one day approach the level of cool that was surpassed when Billi D. graced the vocal booth.

The track was recorded in late December the day before Billi D. performed in Columbus at the High Five. The intro to the track replaces the recording engineer and his noise making errors... Sorry! I did the intro this weekend and am finally ready to get the actual track out again and re-track it to protools so it can all be mixed properly. After that is done, the intro will be dropped and the completed track (instrumental) can be sent off to the "Go" so the artist can create what she sees fit for the piece.

So in its rough form, here it is.

Already hate listening to it. There is so much that needs to be changed about the track, the strings are too loud and the back track vocals need to be filtered differently.
I promise I can do better. I will upload the fixed version when its ready.

I dig it man. Her voice is beautiful. We have to work together. That track was tight. We're all too hard on ourselves. keep at it man.
