Flight Of The Conchords
Category: Chronicles
So think British comedy, in an urban American environment. Sounds funny enough right? Well then scratch out British and add in New Zealand. Then take comedy and add the phrase parody folk musical in front of it. Even better right?
The Flight Of The Conchords is a show that follows the comedy lives of Bret and Jemaine who are members of a band that cannot seem to get gigs lined up. The cast is also beefed up with the addition of comedian Kristen Schaal. The show is filled with music video-like songs that add to the comedy and keep the viewers at attention.
Here is HBO's explanation:
Flight of the Conchords follows the trials and tribulations of a two man, digi-folk band from New Zealand as they try to make a name for themselves in their adopted home of New York City. The band is made up of Bret McKenzie on guitar and vocals, and Jemaine Clement on guitar and vocals.
Bret and Jemaine have moved to New York in the hope of forging a successful music career. So far they've managed to find a manager (whose "other" job is at the New Zealand Consulate), one fan (a married obsessive) and one friend (who owns the local pawn shop) -- but not much else.
If you have a chance to catch the show I would suggest it. Check out HBO on Sundays at 10:30 or check the web anytime!
Also check out the flash game devoted to the band!

RE: Flight Of The Conchords
I saw these guys on Comedy Central about two weeks ago and watched an episode on the HBO site about a week ago... The thing on Comedy Central was pretty funny, the show wasn't bad.
Also, I am actually a robot and your foolish checkbox cannot stop our cold and lifeless legions. The day of reckoning is near.
