Apple Dumbs Down the Logic to Double the Profits

iMovie '08 is a weak product, and could never be considered an upgrade, so what do we do now.
Jay-Z once said that he had been dumbing down his rhymes to increase his audience; a slap in the face to the millions of people who purchased his album, and didn't consider themselves "dumb". What is ignored though is those dumb people, those who needed a method of access.
Apple released iMovie '08 as part of the iLife '08 package, for the most part, I see it as a failure. I think switchers that will purchase a new mac in the next year will find it easy to use. For those who are interested in actually making movies... you may be upset.

My guess is that getting easier slicker menus along with less buttons and options will attract new users, but what about us? I think Apple is creating room for a prosumer software package as final cut seems to still a little too much of a jump for some ametuer video junkies.
We were given an inferiror product and Apple seems to pay some attention. It appears that Apple is giving out iMovie '06 for free.
I am guessing you must be an iMovie '08 user, but it is good if you are purchasing '08 without having 06. For those of us who upgraded, '06 was preserved on the HD in a sweet little folder!
So now that I have 06 and 08 installed, I think I will just stick with what I know, and liked 06 until I find a need for the new additions, whatever they are.
